Manny Jacinto stars as Jason Mendoza on the critically acclaimed NBC comedy “The Good Place.”
Jacinto has distinguished himself as one of Hollywood’s most exciting new talents, having quickly amassed an impressive body of work alongside some of the industry’s most notable writers, directors and actors.
For his portrayal on “The Good Place,” Jacinto was hailed by Vanity Fair as “the brightest comedic spot in a cast jam-packed with hilarious talent” and as the “season’s MVP” by the New York Times. His performance has also landed him on “best of” lists from Buzzfeed, Vulture, IndieWire, Uproxx and many more.
Next, he will next portray a fighter pilot in director Joseph Kosinski’s upcoming film “Top Gun: Maverick,” starring alongside Tom Cruise, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Val Kilmer and Jon Hamm. The highly anticipated sequel to the iconic 1986 film is set to be released by Paramount Pictures on June 26, 2020.
On the big screen, Jacinto was recently seen in 20th Century Fox’s “Bad Times at the El Royale,” opposite Chris Hemsworth, Jeff Bridges, Jon Hamm, Dakota Johnson and Cynthia Erivo for Academy Award nominee writer/director and “The Good Place” executive producer Drew Goddard (“The Martian”).
His previous television credits include his acting debut in ABC’s popular fantasy series “Once Upon a Time,” as well as guest appearances on AMC’s “Bates Motel,” opposite Academy Award nominee Vera Farmiga, and ABC’s medical drama “The Good Doctor.” He also starred in the CBC drama series “The Romeo Section” from creator Chris Haddock (“Boardwalk Empire”), which earned him a 2016 Leo Award nomination in the category of Best Supporting Performance in a Dramatic Series.
A native of Vancouver, Jacinto is a trained dancer and studied civil engineering at the University of British Columbia.
