Jackie Bradford is President and General Manager of NBC4 Washington / WRC-TV and Telemundo 44 / WZDC, the NBCUniversal-owned television stations serving English and Spanish-language audiences in the Washington, D.C. area. Bradford’s appointment to her current role in 2010 marked her return to NBC4, where she had previously served as the station’s Director of Finance for eight years.
As President and General Manager, Bradford oversees the largest bilingual newsroom in Washington D.C. that is home to NBC4, the most highly rated television station in Washington, D.C., and Telemundo 44, a new Telemundo-owned station that launched in in January 2018. Under Bradford’s leadership, NBC4 earned its highest market share in its history. Also, two regional bureaus and a local investigative team were launched to better serve local audiences, and Bradford helped to refocus the stations’ community advisory board and create an employee culture that focuses on engagement and feedback.
Bradford’s career began on Capitol Hill in the office of U.S. Senator Richard Bryan of Nevada. She then joined General Electric’s prestigious Financial Management Program where she held various financial positions with GE Real Estate, GE Money and Corporate Treasury. After completion of that program, she worked at “TODAY” and “NBC Nightly News” in finance roles.
Bradford worked as Finance Director at NBC4 in 2000, bringing her back to her native Washington area. In this role, Bradford served as the co-growth leader, working closely with a team of station employees to identify new revenue and partnership opportunities for the station.
In 2008, Bradford was promoted to President and General Manager of KNSD, the NBC-owned station in San Diego. At KSND, she oversaw the station’s on-air, online and digital platforms as well as its day-to-day operations.
Bradford serves on the board of the Greater Washington Board of Trade, the Greater Washington Urban League and the Washington Tennis and Education Foundation. She is also a member of the Economic Club of Washington.
Bradford earned her bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Virginia. She resides in Washington, D.C. and is an avid tennis and ping pong player.
