David Bernad is an executive producer on NBC’s new comedy “Superstore.”
Bernad is a Golden Globe-nominated producer who is partnered with director Ruben Fleischer at their Universal-based production company, The District.
Prior to “Superstore,” Bernad produced the critically acclaimed HBO series “Enlightened,” which starred Laura Dern and Luke Wilson. During its two-season run, the series received two Golden Globe and two Emmy nominations.
On the feature side, Bernad produced “The D Train,” starring Jack Black, James Marsden, Kathryn Hahn and Jeffrey Tambor, which premiered in competition at Sundance and was released by IFC films in 2015. His most recent film, “7 Days in Hell,” which stars Andy Samberg, Kit Harington, Will Forte and Fred Armisen, premiered on HBO in 2015.
Previously, Bernad produced “Magic Magic,” written and directed by Sebastian Silva and starred Michael Cera, Juno Temple and Emily Browning. The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and was released by Sony in 2013. Bernad was named to the Hollywood Reporter’s prestigious Next Gen List in 2012. He began his career in the mailroom at United Talent Agency.
