The Award-Winning Piece Featured Co-Host Rashel Díaz with a Panel of LGBTQ Leaders and Specialists to Discuss the Acceptance of Varying Sexual Orientations and Gender Identities
MIAMI – July 30, 2020 – Telemundo’s “Un Nuevo Día” was honored today with the 2020 GLAAD Media Award for “Outstanding Spanish-Language TV Interview” as part of the 31st Annual GLAAD Media Awards for the live segment “Cómo y Cuándo Salir del Clóset” (How and When to Come Out of the Closet), which aired January 31, 2019. Moderated by co-host Rashel Díaz, the piece featured a panel of LGBTQ community leaders and specialists discussing the process of revealing and accepting one’s sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Guests shared their personal experiences alongside a sexologist and GLAAD representative Monica Trasandes.
