MIAMI, FL – January 9, 2018 – Telemundo participated in “Toys 4 Puerto Rico” events in Puerto Rico and Orlando, FL, distributing toys to children on Three Kings Day this past weekend. Telemundo’s Carlos Ponce, and Telemundo Puerto Rico’s Saudy Rivera and Alexandra Fuentes participated in the toy distribution event in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico, alongside Luis A. Miranda Jr., where nearly 2,000 attendees gathered. Zuleyka Rivera from Telemundo’s Emmy Award-winning morning show “Un Nuevo Día” joined Telemundo Orlando’s Michelle Feliz at the event in Centro Borinqueño where more than 1,800 guests attended. Twelve lucky family members were picked and given passes to Universal Orlando Resorts.
Under the banner of "El Poder En Ti" (The Power in You), Telemundo’s award-winning corporate social responsibility initiative, the network made a donation of $30,000 for the toy drive.
The “Toys 4 Puerto Rico” drive was launched on Tuesday, December 12 by award-winning composer, lyricist and performer Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hispanic Federation, Toys“R”Us, R.Evolución Latina and Telemundo as the official media partner. The toy drive included 40 events in Puerto Rico and the U.S. including events in Orlando and New York City where 39,000 toys were distributed in total.
