MIAMI – September 14, 2017 – Noticias Telemundo will present the special “Huracanes y Terremotos, Naturaleza en Furia” ("Hurricanes and Earthquakes, Nature’s Fury") this Sunday, September 17 at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT. The special hosted by Noticias Telemundo anchor José Díaz-Balart, will offer a comprehensive overview of the causes, impact and nature of natural disasters such as the recent earthquake in Mexico and Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, including stories and exclusive interviews with experts, survivors of these disasters and celebrities. The special, which will be available via TelemundoNoticias.com, the social networks of Noticias Telemundo at Twitter, YouTube and Facebook and Noticias Telemundo’s mobile app, will feature an exclusive interview with Fher Olvera, singer from the Mexican rock band Maná, about climate change and the role of music as a communications platform.
“We at Noticias Telemundo know that it is not enough to report from the scene of the disaster,” said Díaz-Balart. “Being with the communities during a tragedy is the first step in a task that involves investigating the real causes behind these phenomena, and above all, understanding the human perspective through the stories of those affected.”
On “Huracanes y Terremotos, Naturaleza en Furia,” Noticias Telemundo correspondents and producers will provide an exhaustive overview of these natural phenomena through interviews with experts, such as NBC 6 South Florida Chief Meteorologist John Morales and Nicole Hernández from the Union of Concerned Scientists, as well as stories about the survivors and the recovery efforts of the affected communities.
