Telemundo 31 / WTMO launches a consumer unit that is exclusively dedicated to helping local viewers get answers to consumer problems

ORLANDO, FL – (April 10, 2019) – Consumers in Central Florida who think they may have been wronged can call on Telemundo 31’s new consumer investigative unit “Telemundo 31 Responde” to get answers. Led by journalist Valezka Gil, WTMO’s “Telemundo 31 Responde” consumer unit will air its first report on April 11 during the station’s 6 PM weekday edition of “Telenoticias 31.” New consumer stories or reports will air every Thursday during Telemundo 31’s local newscasts. Audiences can also visit to watch “Telemundo 31 Responde” stories, and access them directly from the station’s mobile app “Telemundo 31.”

Telemundo 31 joins NBC and Telemundo owned stations in 18 markets that feature their own local “NBC Responds / Telemundo Responde” units. Collectively, the units have answered more than 350,000 consumer tips and recovered nearly $30 million for consumers.

A native of Venezuela and longtime Orlando resident, Gil is a trusted storyteller at Telemundo 31 where she has covered the market’s most important news stories including the Pulse shooting, the George Zimmerman trial and Hurricane Michael.
