NBCUNIVERSAL TELEMUNDO ENTERPRISES ANNOUNCES DIGITAL-FIRST PARTNERSHIPS WITH E!, HULU AND SPORTSMANIAS

Unit to Launch First-Ever Digital Female Empowerment Series Leading up to FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™

The Industry-Leading Partnerships Are Aimed at Empowering Gen Z Latinas, Soccer Fanatics, and “Generation M” Through Original Bicultural Programming

MIAMI — May 10, 2018 — During its Upfront presentation to advertisers today, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises announced new multi-platform partnerships with E!, Hulu, and SportsManias, anchored on original content co-creation and scalable co-distribution. These partnerships are the most recent additions to NBCUniversal Telemundo’s powerful digital portfolio, and solidify the network’s commitment to offer high-quality, entertaining digital content for young Hispanic audiences, including the post-millennial “Generation Z,” and what the network calls “Generation M™:” multicultural, mobile, millennials.

In partnership with E!, Telemundo will develop the first total-market entertainment property for bicultural audiences across the U.S. & Latin America. The project will be anchored by a weekly entertainment show called “The Mix” (WT) to be co-distributed on linear, digital and social platforms via E! News, Telemundo and Universo. In keeping with Telemundo’s Upfront theme, Beyond Language, Powerful Consumers, the show will be produced in both English and Spanish using bilingual talent, and will cover a broad range of topics including a mashup of the top Hispanic news stories in entertainment, candid interviews with special guests, and highlights of Hispanic celebrities in fashion, style and beauty. All production efforts will be centralized out of Miami from the network’s new global headquarters, Telemundo Center. The new show is scheduled to launch in October 2018 leading up to NBCUniversal’s broadcast of the Latin American Music Awards and the People’s Choice Awards.

Since its launch in 2008, Hulu has consistently been at the forefront of entertainment and technology, with a U.S. subscriber count of more than 20 million. Telemundo is currently the largest provider of Spanish-language content on Hulu, and the networks are expanding their partnership by increasing Hulu’s current Telemundo and Universo content offerings to include the hit series El Señor de los Cielos, Señora Acero, Alguien Te Mira, La Casa de al Lado, Perro Amor, Dueños del Paraíso, The Riveras, and I love Jenni. The expanded partnership will begin this month.

Telemundo will create a first-ever multi-platform, bilingual, female empowerment series called “Fuerza” (WT), featuring the unique and powerful stories of multicultural women leading up to the FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™. The 14-week series will include special celebrity guests and social influencers to join the conversation during its production at Telemundo Center and will be distributed across Telemundo Enterprises’ digi,-social platforms, including YouTube, Twitter, Snap and its owned and operated sites.

Ranked as the #1 top sports app in the App Store in 78 countries with over 34,000,000 emojis shared, SportsManias will partner with Telemundo Deportes to create a World Cup-themed keyboard, providing fans with animated soccer emojis for every moment of this summer’s FIFA World Cup. As the world's leading sports emoji keyboard provider, SportsManias has created a keyboard for Telemundo Deportes that will feature animated emojis of players scoring goals and celebrating, referees pulling out red cards, fans waving their country's colors, and more. As fans watch the excitement of each match and share their experiences by texting their friends and family, these animated emojis will take their messaging conversations to the next level.

The Telemundo World Cup-themed emoji keyboard will be available through the App Store and Google Play Store. Fans simply download the Telemundo Deportes app or the SportsManias app and will have immediate access to the unique soccer emoji keyboard. The Telemundo World Cup-themed emoji keyboard, powered by SportsManias, will be available for free and the emojis will be compatible with messaging apps including iMessage, Facebook Messenger and social media platforms, including Twitter and Snapchat.
