NBC RATINGS FOR THE LATE-NIGHT WEEK OF AUG. 5-9

“Tonight” Wins the Week in Adults 25-54 and Key Adult-Female Demos

At 12:35 a.m., “Late Night” Leads “Late Late Show” in Every Key Measure for the Week & Season

Social / Digital: “Tonight” Is the Week’s Most Viewed Entertainment Program on Social Channels, Hitting a Six-Week High on YouTube; “Late Night” Sets a Three-Week High on YouTube, as All Three “Closer Look” Segments Top 2 Million Views

NEW YORK — Aug. 13, 2019 — “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has averaged a 0.31 rating in adults 18-49 and 1.710 million viewers overall for the late-night ratings week of Aug. 5-9, according to “live plus same day” figures from Nielsen Media Research.

“Tonight” ranked #1 for the week among the 11:30 p.m. ET broadcast talk shows in adults 25-54 with a 0.49 rating vs. a 0.48 for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and a 0.44 for “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” “Tonight” also took the week in women 25-54, women 18-49 (tie) and women 18-34.

Note that all 11:30 p.m. and 12:35 a.m. weeknight shows except “Nightline” ran Friday rebroadcasts, with CBS excluding its Friday encore results from these weekly averages.

For the week, “Late Night with Seth Meyers” topped CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden” in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key categories. Season to date, Meyers also leads both “Late Late Show” and ABC’s “Nightline” in “most current” averages in every key ratings category.

In the digital realm, “Tonight” was the most-viewed program among all Entertainment shows, not just late-night, amassing more than 83 million views across YouTube and Facebook (Source: ListenFirst Media, 8/5/19-8/11/19. LF// TV Universe // Episodic, Brand Type: TV Shows, ListenFirst Video Views [YouTube + Facebook]. Excludes WWE & Children’s programs).

“Tonight” hit a six-week high on YouTube, accumulating 9.4 million new video views. The video of Dakota Johnson explaining Her Missing Tooth Gap led with 2.1 million views, and a total of four clips crossed the 1 million mark for the week. On Facebook, seven “Tonight” videos topped 1 million views, paced by the Dakota Johnson clip (3 million).

Year to date, “Tonight” is the #1 most-viewed entertainment program on television across social channels (Source: ListenFirst Media, ListenFirst Video Views (Facebook + YouTube), LF//TV Universe // Episodic, 01/01/19-08/11/19, excludes WWE programs & specials).

“Late NIght with Seth Meyers” earned 9.5 million new video views on YouTube for the week, the show’s highest total in three weeks. Each of the week’s three “A Closer Look” segments achieved more than 2 million views.
