MSNBC Live with Stephanie Ruhle Will Feature an All-Female Lineup for Third Consecutive Year Will Debut Two New Web Series Showcasing Inspiring and Empowering Women

NEW YORK – March 6, 2019 - NBC News and MSNBC will have a special day of programming to honor International Women’s Day, Friday, March 8. TODAY kicks off the day highlighting women who are breaking barriers in their fields and paving the way for the next generation such as Jody Singer, the first woman director of Marshall Space Flight Center and Jackie Munn, who served in Afghanistan as a Green Beret. Grammy award-winner Maren Morris will also perform live in concert on TODAY’s Plaza as part of a special hour sponsored by Citi.

Additionally TODAY will feature the naval aviators of the historic all-female Navy flyover team from Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia, as well as the record-breaking graduating class of female members of the FDNY.

NBC News’ Stay Tuned will have special behind-the-scenes access to the TODAY concert featuring Maren Morris, with host Savannah Sellers speaking to Morris about the importance of female influences in her career.

On NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, senior investigative correspondent Cynthia McFadden will profile women over age 60 who are hitting their stride and experiencing newfound success professionally.

For the third year in a row, MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle will celebrate International Women’s Day with an all-female lineup discussing the top political news stories of the day during MSNBC Live with Stephanie Ruhle at 9 a.m. ET. Guests will include:

  • THINK will publish an op-ed on the notion of women’s equality, tied to the ERA and an As Told To from Amber Tamblyn on the new feminist "era of ignition" tied to her new book.
  • NBC News MACH published a video about Rosalind Franklin and her contribution to space exploration & why the new Mars Rover is named after her.
  • NBC News Digital will publish a feature on the history of international women’s day.
