NEW YORK, NY – (April 27, 2020) – Recognizing their commitment to broadcast excellence and the highest standards in journalism, the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awarded 20 New York Emmys® to NBC 4 New York / WNBC, Telemundo 47 / WNJU and LX.TV Productions during Saturday evening’s digital broadcast.
NBC 4 New York was recognized with six New York Emmys®, including English-language “Breaking News” coverage of the May 15, 2019 helicopter crash in the Hudson River. Two of the station’s Emmys® were awarded to the WNBC I-Team, the largest local, televised investigative and consumer reporting team in New York. This included the category “Societal Concerns: News” for the I-Team’s coverage of living conditions in New York City public housing.

Telemundo 47 was recognized with thirteen New York Emmy® Awards, including the categories of “Team Coverage”, “Spot News”, Spanish-language “Weekend Newscast” and Spanish-language “Breaking News” coverage of the June 10, 2019 helicopter crash in Midtown Manhattan.
