Pets of all types find new homes during WCAU and WWSI’s popular pet adoption drive

PHILADELPHIA – (August 20, 2019) – More than 5,600 local pets were adopted during NBC10 and Telemundo62’s fifth annual Clear The Shelters™ pet adoption drive which launched in July and culminated on Saturday, August 17. Across the country, more than 110,000 pets - and counting - found new homes.
“In partnership with nearly 70 local shelters and rescues in our area, we are thrilled to announce that 1,902 pets found their forever homes on Saturday, August 17,” said Ric Harris, President and General Manager of NBC10 and Telemundo62. “More than 5,600 animals have been adopted since the campaign kicked off three weeks ago. On behalf of NBC10 and Telemundo62, we appreciate all the families who adopted animals making this year’s Clear the Shelters campaign a huge success.”
Kelly Clarkson will host “Clear The Shelters,” a 30-minute post-adoption drive special that will air Saturday, August 24 on NBC stations (check local listings). The show will recap this year’s pet adoption campaign. Telemundo stations will also air a post-adoption drive special the same day. The show will be hosted by Elva Saray, hosts of Telemundo 52 Los Angeles’ daily entertainment show, Acceso Total (check local listings).
