Miramar, FL – November 2, 2017 – NBC6 / WTVJ has named Keith Jones as the station’s 4 PM newscast anchor. Jones joins Trina Robinson and will co-anchor the hour-long weekday newscast as well as the 5:30 PM newscast. Additionally, Jones will serve as the lead sports anchor and host of Sports Final. The half-hour locally produced sports show airs Sunday evenings at 11:30 PM immediately following the station’s late newscast.

“Keith Jones is a well-rounded TV journalist that tackles breaking news, in-depth reporting and sports with great passion,” said Migdalia Figueroa, Vice President of News at NBC6. “With his unique set of skills and knowledge, Keith is the perfect person to replace Adam Kuperstein as 4 PM anchor and lead of our sports coverage.”

Jones joined the NBC6 News team in July 2012 and has earned several EMMY® nominations for his reporting. Prior to joining NBC6, he served as the morning and noon news anchor at WSTP, a CBS affiliate in Tampa/St. Petersburg. Jones’ expansive journalistic career includes some of the most impactful stories such as anchoring continuous coverage and reporting from the crash site of United Flight 93 on September 11th, and field anchoring and reporting from the scene of nine trapped miners at Quecreek Mine in Pennsylvania.

Jones has received numerous first-place awards from the Pennsylvania AP, Cleveland Press Club and Crystal Awards in the areas of features and spot news. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Communication/Journalism from Barry University, where he attended on a baseball scholarship.
