In the Month of July, Telemundo Ranks as the #1 Spanish-language Network in Monday-Friday Primetime Among Adults 18-49 in Both 7p-11p and 8p-11p
MIAMI - August 7, 2018 – For the first time ever, TELEMUNDO ranked #1 in total day for two consecutive months (June and July), among total viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34, according to Nielsen. Additionally, Telemundo finished the month of July as the #1 Spanish-language network in Monday-Friday primetime, for both 7p-11p and 8p-11p, among adults 18-49. Telemundo averaged 693,000 in 7p-11p and out delivered the combined performance of Univision and UniMas by +19% (807,000 vs. 680,000) in 8p-11p.
For the month of June, Telemundo averaged 442,000 adults 18-49 in total day, ranking as the network’s best month in Nielsen history, and ranking as the #1 Spanish-language network ahead of Univision by +27%. In July, Telemundo continued its #1 rank in total day among adults 18-49, outperforming Univision by +29% (268,000).
In total day, Telemundo was up +71% in June 2018 vs. prior year among adults 18-49 (442,000 vs. 258,000), up +88% in adults 18-34 (190,000 vs. 101,000) & up +57% in total viewers (933,000 vs. 594,000). In July, the network was up +19% vs. prior year among adults 18-49 (347,000 vs. 292,000), up +24% in adults 18-34 (152,000 vs. 123,000) and up +10% in total viewers (728,000 vs. 660,000). Telemundo was the only Spanish-language broadcast network to have growth in June and July vs. prior year among adults 18-49 and adults 18-34. In fact, Univision was down -3% among adults 18-49 and -5% among adults 18-34 in June, and down -28% and -27% in July, among the same demos.
