THE FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP TROPHY LANDS AT TELEMUNDO CENTER IN THE FIRST U.S. STOP OF ITS GLOBAL TOUR ON MARCH 13

Two-Time World Cup Champion Kristine Lilly and FIFA Representatives Join Trophy Visit at Telemundo Headquarters in Miami, Fla

Miami, Fla. – March 7, 2019 – Telemundo Deportes, the Spanish-language home of the FIFA Women's World Cup™, welcomes the original Trophy as it makes its first U.S. stop of the global tour next Wednesday, March 13.

FIFA Legend and two-time World Champion Kristine Lilly of the USWNT alongside FIFA representatives, including the Secretary General Fatma Samoura and Chief Commercial Officer Philippe Le Floc’h, will join the event as the iconic trophy for women soccer’s biggest competition lands at Telemundo Center.

The exclusive visit will be covered across Telemundo programming and multimedia platforms. In addition, the Trophy will be front and center on Telemundo Deportes’ long-running sports and entertainment show Titulares y Más airing that evening at 11:35 pm. ET.

Telemundo Deportes’ renowned team of commentators, including five-time Emmy award winner Andres Cantor and Ana Jurka, who will serve as the main anchor of Telemundo’s presentation of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, will host the Trophy visit which also includes activities with Telemundo employees and media.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup Trophy Visit is also part of Telemundo’s Mujeres Imparables, the network’s recently launched campaign dedicated to celebrating the achievements of women in all aspects of life and championing their advancement at every level of business.

The global FIFA Women’s World Cup Trophy Tour launched in February making stops in more than 20 cities across six continents alongside various FIFA legends before arriving in Paris on May 2. Designed by William Sawaya and handcrafted by Milanese specialists Sawaya & Moroni for the 1999 tournament, the trophy captures the athleticism, dynamism and elegance of international women’s football. The names of all previous FIFA Women’s World Cup™ winners are engraved underneath its base.

As the exclusive Spanish-language home of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup France™ taking place next June 7-July 7, Telemundo Deportes will present all 52 matches live on Telemundo, Universo, and the Telemundo Deportes and NBC Sports apps.
