MIAMI – October 12, 2017 – Telemundo announced today that millennial actress and Latin music phenomenon Becky G and international actor and singer Diego Boneta will share hosting duties at the upcoming third annual “Latin American Music Awards” (Latin AMAs). Produced by Telemundo and Somos Productions, the awards ceremony will broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, CA, at 9pm/8c on Thursday, October 26, 2017, and will be preceded by the red-carpet pre-show “La Alfombra de Latin AMAs” at 8pm/7c.

The Mexican-American star, who has close to 20 million followers on social media, released her most recent single, Spanish-language urban-pop song “Mayores” featuring Bad Bunny in July and it has become an immediate smash hit. Currently No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, “Mayores” is on Spotify’s Global Top 50 chart. “Mayores” also debuted at No. 5 on Billlboard’s Latin Digital Songs Sales chart, earning Becky G her fifth Top Ten hit on the chart. The artist has the second-most top ten hits among female artists. She was recently recognized as one of Rolling Stone’s “18 Teens Shaking Up Pop Culture,” one of Billboard’s “21 Under 21,” and was honored by her home city of Inglewood, California for contributions to the Hispanic community. The RCA/Sony Music Latin recording artist is working on two upcoming albums, one in Spanish and the other in English and will soon be heard as the lead voice talent on the upcoming animated film “Gnome Alone.”
Diego Boneta, who will soon play Luis Miguel on Telemundo’s television series based on the life of the internationally renowned music superstar and Grammy-award-winning multi-platinum recording artist, got his start on the Spanish-language television series “Rebelde,” one of the most popular and longest-running novelas across Latin America. His self-titled debut album earned him two Top 10 hits in Mexico and achieved Gold status in Chile and Brazil. He then transitioned into U.S. television with roles on “Beverly Hills 90210” and “Pretty Little Liars,” among many others. His true rise to fame came in 2012 when he starred opposite Tom Cruise in New Line’s adaptation of the musical “Rock of Ages,” which earned him both the Cinemacon’s “Rising Star of the Year” award and an Alma Award for best actor. He was named one of L.A. Times “Faces to Watch” in 2014, and was featured in Bruce Weber’s new “Rising Star” campaign that same year. Most recently Boneta was part of the FOX horror-comedy series “Scream Queens,” co-starring Emma Roberts, as well as Imagine Entertainment’s “Pelé: Birth of a Legend,” opposite Vincent D’Onofrio and Rodrigo Santoro.
