‘THE PRESIDENT IS NOT UNDER INVESTIGATION FROM THE SPECIAL COUNSEL,’ TRUMP LAWYER TELLS ‘MEET THE PRESS’ MODERATOR CHUCK TODD

PLUS: Trump Lawyer Sekulow: “He’s not afraid of the investigation. There is no investigation” ALSO: Sen. Rubio on the Russia probe: “The president’s pretty fired up about this” EXCLUSIVE: Sen. King says “the collusion, the cooperation aspect of this investigation is not over … We’re 20 percent into it”

JUNE 18, 2017 -- “The president is not under investigation from the special counsel,” Jay Sekulow, a member of President Trump’s legal team, told “Meet the Press” moderator Chuck Todd this morning.

“He's not afraid of the investigation. There is no investigation,” he added. Watch the full interview.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, noted “one thing we've learned, I think, from the testimony of multiple people now is the president's pretty fired up about this,” referring to the Russia probe.

He also addressed legislation passed earlier this week by the Senate that would impose additional sanctions against Russia and limit the president’s power to lift them in the future: “I personally believe that at the core of the resistance is not the president, and I don't think the president himself has a problem with additional sanctions on Russia.” Watch the full interview.

“I can say categorically that the collusion, the cooperation aspect of the investigation is not over. And as far as that goes, I'd say we're 20 percent into it,” Sen. Angus King (I-Maine), who also serves on the Senate Intelligence Committee, exclusively shared on this morning’s broadcast. Watch the full interview.

The program’s roundtable this morning was comprised of David Brooks from The New York Times, Danielle Pletka of the American Enterprise Institute, Eugene Robinson of The Washington Post and Amy Walter of The Cook Political Report; their discussions included the president’s tweets and this week’s congressional baseball shooting.
