ORLANDO, Fla., / NEW YORK, Aug. 29 – NBC Sports Group will carry more than 65 combined hours of live coverage of the final three events of the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup, beginning Friday with the Deutsche Bank Championship from TPC Boston and followed by the BMW Championship (Sept. 6-9) and the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola (Sept. 20-23). Golf Channel also will replay the tournaments in primetime.

The top-100 in the FedExCup points standings following last week’s opening playoff event will compete this week at TPC Boston. Nick Watney’s victory at The Barclays elevated him to the leader in the points race for the FedExCup trophy and the $10 million prize. Brandt Snedeker, who finished runner-up at The Barclays, moved into second place, followed by Tiger Woods, who finished T38 last week. Results from the Deutsche Bank Championship will narrow the field to 70 for next week’s BMW Championship at Crooked Stick in Indianapolis, and to 30 for the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola in Atlanta.

TOURNAMENT BROADCAST TEAMS: Dan Hicks and Johnny Miller – together for their 13^th season – will anchor NBC’s weekend coverage of the final three PGA TOUR events, joined by tower reporters Gary Koch and Peter Jacobsen; on-course reporters Roger Maltbie, Mark Rolfing and Dottie Pepper; and essayist Jimmy Roberts. Golf Channel’s Steve Sands will conduct post-round interviews for both Golf Channel and NBC tournament coverage. Terry Gannon and Frank Nobilo will anchor Golf Channel’s early round coverage for each event, with NBC’s team of reporters and analysts joining the broadcasts.

GOLF CENTRAL LIVE ON NBC THROUGHOUT PLAYOFFS: For the first time, Golf Central, Golf Channel’s signature news show, airs live on NBC preceding weekend coverage of all three PGA TOUR Playoff events, giving fans a preview of network tournament coverage through interviews, early highlights and expert analysis from Golf Channel and NBC’s team of reporters and analysts. Golf Central Live first appeared on NBC in 2011 prior to weekend coverage of the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola.

SPOTLIGHT COVERAGE RETURNS: Golf Channel’s “Spotlight Coverage” will return this week at the Deutsche Bank Championship, focusing on the finishing stretch of holes at TPC Boston while complementing NBC’s third and final-round of coverage. While NBC is on the air live on Sunday and Monday with traditional coverage, Golf Channel’s Spotlight Coverage also will air live with a different look from the same tournament. Viewers will be offered an exclusive look at holes 16, 17 and 18 at TPC Boston. Spotlight coverage was first introduced in March at The Honda Classic as a first-of-its-kind golf television viewing experience.
