- Expanded Tournament Coverage – Golf Channel will air a total of 28.5 hours of tournament coverage of the Evian Masters, the highest number of coverage hours in the history of the tournament on Golf Channel.
- World No. 1 Yani Tseng Headlines Strong International Field – Rolex Rankings No. 1 Yani Tseng headlines the strong field that includes defending champion Ai Miyazato and eight other former champions at the event: Jiyai Shin (2010), Helen Alfredsson (2008, 1998, 1994), Natalie Gulbis (2007), Karrie Webb (2006), Paula Creamer (2005), Wendy Doolan (2004), Juli Inkster (2003) and Laura Davies (1995 and 1996).
- Largest Purse on LPGA Tour – The field of 111 players are competing for a $3.25 million purse, which is tied for the largest purse on the LPGA Tour for the 2012 season, and a $487,500 first-place check.

- Players Mic’d Up Live Thursday and Friday – Golf Channel will fit select players and their caddies with microphones for the first two rounds (two on Thursday and two on Friday). Thursday: Nick Flanagan and Lee Williams. Friday: D.J. Brigman and Doug LaBelle. Viewers will be able to eavesdrop on conversations between the players and their caddies throughout their rounds of play. Golf Channel will broadast “live” audio from players and their caddies during their rounds.
- Sam Saunders “Off the Course” – Golf Channel will profile Web.com Tour professional and grandson of Arnold Palmer, Sam Saunders, away from the golf course and his life at home in a feature that will air during tournament coverage.
- “Pros Fore Patients” – Web.com Tour players will compete in a mini-golf contest with patients at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital in a feature that will air during tournament coverage.
- Instant Instruction with Mark Lye – Golf Channel analyst Mark Lye will give viewers instruction tips from the driving range immediately following key shots from players during tournament coverage.
- Several Collegiate All-Americans Entered in Field – Twelve collegiate All-Americans are scheduled to compete this week, including Jack Nicklaus award winner (the top player in college golf) Justin Thomas. Also entered into the field is reigning U.S. Amateur champ Kelly Kraft.

Murphy made the cut in both events he competed in on the 2012 European Tour as a result of winning Big Break Ireland in 2011 (Trophee Hassan II and the Irish Open). Murphy is T-33 at 1-under-par after 11 holes (tournament suspended due to weather).
