This Sunday: Inside the closed-door Capitol Hill negotiations with President Obama’s point man, Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner, who this week met with top lawmakers to try to hammer out a deal.
Then: Is Washington any closer to a deal? Despite initial optimism, both sides end the week pointing fingers as the debate centers on taxes and entitlement spending. This Sunday, an exclusive conversation between two voices calling for compromise in their respective parties: Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) and Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO).
Also Sunday: As Congress debates, what does the approaching fiscal cliff mean for the country? What impact will the talks have on the still- recovering economy? The man at the center of Republican Party infighting, anti-tax advocate Grover Norquist, joins our special political roundtable. Also weighing in: the top Democrat on the House Budget Committee, Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), and insights and analysis from CNBC’s Jim Cramer and Maria Bartiromo.
