This Sunday: New Jersey’s outspoken Republican Governor Chris Christie, a key supporter of Mitt Romney, joins us just three days before the all-important first presidential debate. What does Romney need to accomplish in his first bout with President Obama? Does the campaign need to reset after tough polling numbers in key swing states?
Then: President Obama hunkers down this weekend ahead of Wednesday’s first debate. What is the president’s plan of attack for round one with Romney? We’ll ask his senior adviser and architect of his 2008 campaign, David Plouffe.
Also Sunday: What do the candidates need to do in the homestretch and during the debates to sway voters still sizing up their choices? And how much can the race change between now November 6th? Our roundtable weighs in: Conservative activist and founder of the Faith and Freedom Coalition Ralph Reed, Fmr. Gov. Ed Rendell (D-PA), the BBC’s Katty Kay, NBC News political director Chuck Todd, and NBC News chief foreign correspondent Richard Engel, who will be live from Afghanistan as part of the network’s special coverage of the region.
David Gregory is the moderator of “Meet the Press.” Betsy Fischer Martin is the executive producer, Adam Verdugo is the senior producer, Chris Donovan, and Ilana Marcus Drimmer are producers.
"Meet the Press" is seen on the NBC Television Network from 9-10 a.m. ET in most markets. In New York City and Washington D.C., the broadcast is seen from 10:30-11:30 a.m. ET.
The program re-airs on MSNBC Sunday afternoons at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT and again at 2 a.m. ET/11 p.m. PT and 4 a.m. ET/1 a.m. PT Monday. At these times, “Meet The Press” will also air on SIRIUS channel 90 and XM channel 120.
