The group discovers that Lauren (Laura Benanti) caves under pressure when taking tests and decides to help her study for her real estate certification exam. Meanwhile, Steven (John Cho) has broken up with his girlfriend and enlists Ryan to be his wingman to go out on the town. Julie White, Tyler James Williams, Suzy Nakamura and Brett Gelman also star.

Despite Adam’s (Peter Krause) reservations, Kristina (Monica Potter) encourages Max (Max Burkholder) to extend himself even though she may be too preoccupied to help him. BLIGE, MICHAEL BUBLE AND ROB THOMAS TO PREPARE THEIR ARTISTS FOR BATTLE – IN A NEW TWIST, EACH COACH HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO STEAL ARTISTS WHO ARE ELIMINATED FROM OPPOSING TEAMS – The "battle rounds" begin and the coaches enlist the help of the music industry’s top recording artists to offer their knowledge and skill as advisers. Christina Aguilera teams up with Billie Joe Armstrong, Adam Levine with Mary J. Blige, CeeLo Green with Rob Thomas, and Blake Shelton with Michael Buble. In this phase the coaches pit two of their own team members against each other in a dueling duet. After the vocal face-off, each coach must choose which artist from their team is the strongest and in a new twist, also has the option of stealing losing artists from an opposing coach.
