Premieres: October 17th
"Soy Tu Fan" (I’m Your Fan) is a romantic comedy that introduces Charly, a young, attractive Sociology student living in Mexico City and freshly dumped by her cheating boyfriend: she’s on the rebound. Her best friends are busy trying to find the perfect relationship, split between a fear of commitment and finding the perfect man. They aren't helping. Unaware of her beauty, depressed by the break-up, and afraid of never finding true love, Charly finds herself moping around her apartment alongside her dog, drinking scotch with her grandma, and venting out to her therapist week after week. Meanwhile, Charly's swinging soap star brother has problems of his own, namely juggling several groupies and keeping them a secret from his co-star and girlfriend. Even Charly’s divorced parents are hooking up with new people half their age.
And making things worse, her biggest annoyance, Nicolas, has become her biggest fan. Not exactly her idea of prince charming - "I hate the way he dances, they way he talks, his shoes!" she admits to her therapist. His awkward, blind devotion to her will test her patience.
She isn't sure he's what she wants. But he may just be what she needs.
Each episode showcases Mexico City through new eyes. It is a vibrant living city steeped in tradition but speeding towards an unknown future, just like the characters. It’s a city that embodies the aspirations of this new generation, constantly reinventing itself though language, culture and relationships.
Acclaimed Mexican actors, Diego Luna ("Milk," "Y Tu Mama Tambien," "Rudo y Cursi") and Gael Garcia Bernal ("Y Tu Mama Tambien," "Rudo y Cursi") are the producers.
