UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - June 7, 2012 - mun2, the leading bicultural cable network, will present the finale of the electrifying telenovela “La Reina del Sur” in Spanish with English subtitles on June 14 at 10 p.m. “La Reina del Sur” (Monday-Thursday, 10 p.m.) is currently the most watched Hispanic cable program at 10 p.m., beating all other Hispanic networks in the same time period. The novela set ratings records during its original airing on Telemundo in the spring of 2011 with an average of 4.2 million total viewers (total persons).
“La Reina del Sur” tells the story of Teresa Mendoza, a humble young woman from Sinaloa, Mexico. Mendoza, who is played by renowned actress Kate del Castillo, sees her life take a drastic turn when she falls in love with the wrong man - the handsome El Güero Avila (Rafael Amaya). El Güero was a Chicano pilot from San Antonio, TX involved in drug trafficking for the powerful drug lord, Epifanio Vargas (Humberto Zurita). Based on Arturo Perez Reverte’s bestseller, the genre and audience-defining series was shot by Telemundo Studios in four continents – North and South America, Europe and Africa.

mun2 PRESENTA EL EPISODIO FINAL DE “LA REINA DEL SUR" EL 14 DE JUNIO A LAS 10 PM; EL PROGRAMA DE CABLE HISPANO MÁS VISTO EN SU FRANJA HORARIA
UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIFORNIA – 7 de junio de 2012 - mun2, la principal cadena de cable bicultural, presentará el episodio final de la electrizante telenovela “La reina del sur” en español con subtítulos en inglés el 14 de junio a las 10 p.m. “La reina del sur” (lunes a jueves, 10 p.m.) es actualmente el programa de cable hispano más visto a las 10 p.m., ya que venció a todas las demás cadenas hispanas en ese mismo horario. La novela marcó récords de audiencia durante su emisión original en Telemundo en la primavera de 2011 con un promedio de 4,2 millones espectadores totales (total de personas).
“La reina del sur” cuenta la historia de Teresa Mendoza, una humilde joven de Sinaloa, México. Mendoza, interpretada por la reconocida actriz Kate del Castillo, ve cómo su vida da un giro drástico cuando se enamora del hombre equivocado: el apuesto El Güero Avila (Rafael Amaya). El Güero era un piloto chicano de San Antonio, Texas, que estaba involucrado en el tráfico de drogas para el poderoso narcotraficante Epifanio Vargas (Humberto Zurita). Basada en el best seller de Arturo Perez Reverte, la serie que volvió a definir al género y a los índices de audiencia fue grabada por Telemundo Studios en cuatro continentes: América del Norte y del Sur, Europa y África.

Teresa escapa de la justicia española con ayuda del ruso y Willy, cuando Epifanio decide enfrentar a la única amenaza que podría arrebatarle su carrera política.

Teresa escapa de la ley española mientras la acecha la muerte en su tierra, pues el “Ratas” busca una venganza que Epifanio tiene que manejar a última hora.

Final impactante
Teresa cumple su promesa de vengarse contra Epifanio Vargas, el gran traidor de su pasado con el cartel, mientras rehace su vida sin dejar huella.
